TRICKSKI's successful 12" series hits its 8th issue with a pumping piece of old school deep-house action from SOLOMUN. Mladen Solumun a.k.a. SOLOMUN is a passionate DJ coming from the heart of Bosnia. For four years Mladen has been hosting his own club night "DIY" in Hamburg, out of which has grown his DIYnamic label through which he has released six EPs of his to date. Now Sonar Kollektiv's TRICKSKI have caught wind of this rising star and been charting his
Tagesschau on number one. They were quick to enlist SOLOMUN for their successful 12" series Member Of The Trick. So impressed are TRICKSKI with the young DJ/producer that they are also already planning to use his track Black Rose on the penultimate episode in the MOTT series (Member of the Trick 09 in a extended club version) as well as the last track of their MOTT series showcase CD which is gonna be out the same day as this 12” on August 28th 2007. Lead track, Keep Control, is a prime slice of club house. This is the kind of tune you can be sure is going to rock any dancefloor, and even raise the mood to another level. SOLOMUN's sparse production means the track retains an old school vibe while still sounding contemporary. There are enough breaks to give the crowd a chance to make themselves heard too. Another quality of this track is the fact that it fits into almost any kind of house/techno set. PANTHA DU PRINCE aka Hendrik Weber, released his second full length PDP album earlier in 2007 on Hamburg's much respected Dial label. He has recently produced remixes for DEPECHE MODE, MAX CAVALERRA and PHANTOM/GHOST. His treatment of SOLOMUN's Keep Control is no dissapointment at all! It has more of an underground edge, focusing more on moody sounds and a melancholic experimental groove. With this kicking 12" TRICKSKI welcome SOLOMUN into the Members of the Trick family.
With detailed sound design and an ear as attuned to melody as bass and beat, the first LP from Coloray is imaginative yet club-ready. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 20, 2021
